Reopening as a Holiday Cottage in April 2017
Although we are conveniently located on the A6, the garden at River Cottage is a delightful riverside refuge for our guests. Right on the banks of the Wye river in arguably the most beautiful village in the Peak District National Park.
For walkers there’s a wide variety of routes literally from our doorstep; for those who are keen on heritage there’s Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Lyme Park, Renishaw Hall, Hardwick Hall and the ancient market town of Bakewell just minutes away.
Breakfast at River Cottage is an informal and unrushed affair and you’re free to choose from a range of locally-sourced ingredients that are cooked to order. Our guests often linger in the dining room over freshly brewed coffee or tea and home baked toast with home made preserves.
Our guests often congregate at the edge of the river of an evening, usually with a glass of wine, and enjoy watching the trout and the ducks competing for food before strolling to one of the pubs in the village for dinner. For walkers there’s a wide variety of routes literally from our doorstep and we have a range of maps for guests to use.
